Banksia Coast Landcare brings local people together to share knowledge, organise activities, and care for the places that matter to them.

From the coast to the hinterland

Our community stretches from coastal dunes and estuary wetlands to creek catchments, bushland reserves, and small farms. These places are connected: what happens upstream affects the coast, and healthy landscapes support the people who live and work here.

Small actions, shared purpose

The story begins with people noticing something they could help with: weeds beside a favourite beach track, a creek bank needing shade, or a paddock that could provide more shelter and habitat. Working bees, field days, and practical workshops give those ideas a place to grow.

In our community, volunteers, landholders, schools, local groups, and partners bring different skills and experiences. Some plant trees or monitor water. Others grow seedlings, welcome new participants, lend equipment, or help organise the next activity. Every contribution has a place.

A place to learn and belong

Participation should be welcoming and practical. People can begin with a single activity, ask questions, learn alongside neighbours, and find a way to contribute that suits their interests and circumstances.

Our community stories show what community care can look like over time: a dune track recovering, a shelterbelt taking shape, or volunteers returning to a creek to see what has changed.
